12.51 BST: The Liverpool Echo says West Ham have offered £7.5 million for Everton’s Nigerian striker Yakubu. He cost the Toffees £11.5 million when joining from Middlesbrough in 2007 but has never really settled into the first team at Goodison, largely due to injury troubles.
12.27 BST: Juventus could soon find themselves short of defensive midfielders having agreed to sell Christian Poulsen to Liverpool and Tiago to Atletico Madrid, so AS claims the Italian side are hoping to recruit Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid. He could be surplus to requirements following the signing of Sami Khedira.
12.17 BST: Portuguese daily Record says Chelsea will waste little time in targeting Benfica’s David Luiz to replace Ricardo Carvalho. The Blues are poised to announce the signing of Ramires and could snatch another Brazilian talent away from the Portuguese club. Luiz had also been targeted by Real prior to their signing of Carvalho, and could cost as much as €30 million.
11.55 BST: Fulham have officially denied a report in today's Sunnewspaper that claimed Mark Schwarzer has handed in a transfer request at Craven Cottage. "The club has not received a transfer request from Mark Schwarzer," a spokesperson said, "Mark is under contract with us until the summer of 2011 and the manager has underlined his commitment to keep hold of his best players."
11.43 BST: Mundo Deportivo believes Barcelona will secure the signing of Mesut Ozil inside 24 hours if they get the go-ahead from Pep Guardiola, but the coach is wavering and may well turn the player down. It is said Guardiola does not want to stymie the development of players like Thiago Alcantara and Jonathan dos Santos.
11.25 BST: Per Mertesacker may have been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer but the defender says he will not be leavingWerder Bremen. "I'm staying at Bremen," Mertesacker told German daily Bild. "There have been so many rumours concerning me, but I've never had to be concerned because none were concrete."
11.01 BST: West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo says he is stillhoping to sign striker David Ngog from Liverpool this summer.
10.51 BST: The Lancashire Evening Telegraph reveals that Benjani, available as a free agent following his release from Manchester City, has been training with Blackburn Rovers. Benjani will seek to impress on trial for Sam Allardyce, who targeted the Zimbabwe striker last season before he joined Sunderland on loan.
10.37 BST: According to the Manchester Evening News, Sir Alex Ferguson has been given the “green light” to sign Mesut Ozil from Werder Bremen. However, he must of course fend off interest from Barcelona.
10.15 BST: We mentioned last night that Blackpool were poised to announce a number of signings and now the club have obliged,confirming the arrivals of Craig Cathcart from Manchester United, Ludovic Sylvestre from Czech side Mlada Boleslav, Elliot Grandin from Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia and Malaury Martin from Monaco. Cathcart looks a decent signing, he is a defender of some potential.
10.10 BST: Anderlecht are honoured to see striker Romelu Lukaku linked with a move to Real Madrid but the player's agent says it is too early for the teenager to leave Belgium.
09.58 BST: No proof to this story, but is there ever? Despite claims last night that Villa would not be selling Ashley Young, there are rumours that Spurs are now in talks over a £20 million transfer.
09.51 BST: Real Madrid consultant Ernesto Bronzetti has revealed toMarca that the collapse of the Maicon deal led to Jose Mourinho signing Ricardo Carvalho from Chelsea.
09.43 BST: Guillermo Burdisso has joined Roma on loan from Rosario Central. He is the brother of Nicolas.
09.33 BST: Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence says he is no longer interested in joining Celtic after the prospective move "dragged on" too long.Lawrence, 29, was expected to move to Parkhead as Neil Lennon looks to assemble a team capable of reclaiming the SPL title, and the impending sale of Aiden McGeady was due to provide the money required to fund a bid.
09.14 BST: Robert Koren, released by West Brom in the summer, is set to join Hull City ahead of Blackpool and Leicester City.
08.59 BST: The Liverpool Daily Post says the Reds can't complete their move for Juve midfielder Christian Poulsen until Javier Mascherano moves on. Which may take a while, as Inter can't make a bid till they sell Mario Balotelli, and Barca don't appear to be keen on splashing out £25 million right now.
08.35 BST: Sky claims Stephen Ireland is still in talks with Villa despite Martin O'Neill's resignation.
08.20 BST: The Sun says Mark Schwarzer will hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Arsenal.
07.35 BST: Good morning. Here's what's in some of the tabloids this morning.
The Sun: Spurs may be frightened off ex-Arsenal defender William Gallas as he wants a two-year deal, Scott Parker will sign a new four-year deal with West Ham, Robinho will hold talks with Roberto Mancini today, Portsmouth will sell Tommy Smith to QPR for £1.5 million.
Daily Mail: Chelsea ready to sign David Luiz to replace Real Madrid-bound Ricardo Carvalho, West Ham step up bid for Yakubu.
Daily Mirror: Stoke 'keeper Begovic will demand a move to Chelsea if he is not made first-choice, Fulham are set to sign Algeria defender Rafik Halliche for £1.8 million, West Ham are in talks with Marseille midfielder Benoit Cheyrou.
