Gallas: Heading to Spurs? |
15.08 BST Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has all but ruled out a move for Craig Bellamy that looks unlikely at best. "On a scale of one to 10 we would be one, or even on a minus," Jones told the South Wales Echo.
13.23 BST Nothing concrete in this but Shay Given's presence on the Manchester City bench and a so-far fine showing from Joe Hart will surely start the speculation. Arsenal and Fulham bound to be linked.
12.41 BST: An agent claims Giovani dos Santos would be prepared to leave Tottenham if an offer arrives from Italy. “I spoke recently to his father, who became his new agent, and he said Giovani would only move if an offer came in from Italy,” Lodovico Spinosi told Calciomercato.

11.03 BST: This may be stretching the definition of transfer news but it is a great story... Mikel Arteta could be on the brink of making a sensational move to... the England national side. Well, Steven Gerrard certainly hopes it happens.
10.42 BST: It is a bit of a poor morning on the rumour front as the papers all focus on the big kick-off today, but here are a few interesting snippets...
The Mirror: Kenwyne Jones turned down Liverpool in order to link up with Tony Pulis at Stoke City. Meanwhile, Manchester City would rather sell Shay Given to Celtic than allow him to join Arsenal.
Daily Mail: Joe Hart has been given the nod for Manchester City’s game against Tottenham, meaning Shay Given will seek to leave the club before the close of the transfer window. Birmingham are closing in on the £2 million signing of Sunderland defender George McCartney.
10.31 BST: On the European side of things, Werder Bremen haverejected an offer from Real Madrid for Germany international Mesut Ozil. So Fergie might still have a chance of signing him then...
10.16 BST: We will get those paper rumours to you shortly, we promise, but there is a fair bit of news around this morning! Mark Hughes has confirmed that Mark Schwarzer has handed in a transfer request at Fulham, for starters.
Incidentally, The Guardian reports that if Shay Given is left out by Man City against Spurs today, Hughes will attempt to purchase him as Schwarzer's replacement.
10.07 BST: Here is the full story regarding Harry Redknapp's interest in free agent William Gallas.
09.31 BST: We will be looking through the morning papers to bring you the best transfer lines.
09.15 BST: It might be the first day of the new Premier League season but that does not mean we will be neglecting the transfer gossip today. To kick things off, Harry Redknapp has said that he is pursuing a move for William Gallas and Mark Hughes has confirmed Mark Schwarzer has handed in a transfer request at Fulham.
